Challenge
Trek Team
The Challenge Trek team was comprised of a group of
resolute individuals with diverse disabilities, including those
with quadriplegia, paraplegia, and mobility, visual and hearing
impairments.
The team embodied the qualities of responsibility,
leadership, determination and strength as they made the 3-week trek
to the 17,500' base camp of the world's highest peak, thus "Challenge
the Myth" that people with disabilities are not capable.
Along with assistants, medical staff and the finest
Sherpa in the world, the team reached Everest base camp on April
6, 2003, becoming the largest cross disability group to ever do
so. Trek Itinerary and Commemorative
