Vince was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and has lived there
all his life. He was a meatcutter for King Soopers for 21 years,
managing a meat market for them his last three years.
He graduated from Metropolitan State College with a BS in Financial
Accounting in 1990. He became a Christian in 1972 and went to a
local Bible College, graduating with a certificate of completion
in 1974. He retired from meatcutting and became ordained as an Associate
Pastor of a large church in Arvada, Colorado in 1992. He graduated
from Liberty University with a Masters of Arts in Religion in 2001.
Vince became interested in outdoor activities in 1992. He took
up mountaineering around 1995 and has since climbed all the 14ers
in Colorado, many of them twice. In 2001, he climbed Aconcagua in
South America, and Kilimanjaro and McKinley in 2002. His
goal is to climb the "seven summits" and to plant a Bible on each
summit. Vince skis, runs, mountain bikes, and climbs to keep in
shape.
He presently oversees the "Seeds of Faith" singles (ages 30 and
older) and provides assimilation and follow up work with visitors
to the church. He hopes to write a book about his mountain experiences
and how it relates to the Christian walk. Vince underwent chemo
and radiation for non-hodgkins lymphoma in 1997 and will celebrate
six years of being cancer-free this May while on Mt. Everest.
He has been married to Connie for 29 years and together they have
raised two daughters who are now married. He presently lives in
Golden, Colorado.
